A mission in Manila: Serving with all your heart
We are Karin and Werner - together we follow the call of God into the slums of Manila to serve children and families in need with all our hearts. With practical help, education, prayer and the love of Jesus, we want to bring hope where it is often lacking.

We want children in the midst of poverty to experience real hope, dignity and a future through Jesus Christ.

Our journey
The trip to Manila
In May 2018, we attended the Burning Hearts conference in Lüdenscheid. After intense prayer, Karin and I felt the call to support a social missionary outreach in Manila. Karin saw a picture of many children sitting on the ground and one grabbed her hand. I saw children pulling on my hands. These pictures were the answer to our prayers.
In November 2018, we began our mission in Manila. There we experienced the glory of God: spontaneous healings, rekindled hope and people who found faith. It was deeply moving and meaningful to help those in need who would otherwise have no chance.
What really moved us was an encounter in Manila's largest slum, Tondo: our spiritual images became reality - the children really reached out to us. This experience left us in no doubt about our path.
In 2019, we gave up our jobs to work permanently in Mercy Ministries in Manila.
We believe in the Bible, the power of prayer and, above all, in God's love for us and our neighbors. Practical help such as food, clothing, education and medical care are part of our work. Our aim is to support people holistically - body, mind and soul.

A touching revelation
Karin experienced a special moment when she saw children sitting on the floor. One of the children carefully grabbed her little finger and then took her whole hand. She had already seen this image six months earlier in a spiritual impression - a clear confirmation of her path. Today, this vision has become a reality and symbolizes the trust and closeness that we are able to build with the children in Manila.

A powerful encounter
Werner saw children pulling on his right and left arms. In the end, seven children were hanging from his body - three on his right arm, three on his left. One child wrapped itself around his neck and shouted: "Daddy, daddy, help us!" After about a minute, he let go of the children and blessed each one. This spiritual image became reality and clearly showed how much the children needed his closeness and help.

The trip to Manila
We knew that it was no longer an open question to follow the Lord's call to the mission in Manila - His call was clear and irresistible. After all these experiences, we reorganized our lives in Germany, quit our beloved jobs and attended a mission school in early 2020. We then traveled to the USA to improve our English and prepare ourselves specifically for our new life in the mission. We have been living permanently in Manila, Philippines, since 2022.
